Lomholt, Albers Lead Little Rock To Third-Place Tie in Bahamas

Trojans tie for third with a 13-under 851

PARADISE ISLANDS, Bahamas – Magnus Lomholt and Anton Albers both finished among the individual top-10, leading Little Rock to finish tied for third at the Little Rock White Sands Bahamas Invitational. The Trojans shot a 4-under 284 over the final 18 holes, closing out the event at 13-under 851.

Lomholt caught fire over the final 18 holes, finishing with a 6-under 66, including a 4-under 32 over the back nine, to tie for fourth individually with a 6-under 210. His round included no blemishes, finishing with six birdies and 12 pars as he records his ninth par-or-better round through the fall season.
 
He was joined in the individual top-10 by Anton Albers, who carded a 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for seventh with a 4-under 212. Albers was 1-under through the front nine and even on the back, as he finishes the fall season shooting under par in all nine rounds he has competed in this season.
 
The duo were among the tournament's best all weekend as Lomholt finished tied for fifth in par-four scoring at 1-under and tied for sixth on par-fives at 7-under. Albers was right behind on par-four holes, finishing even, while posting a 5-under on par-fives and 1-over on par-threes.
 
Archie Smith just missed his first career top-20 showing, tying for 23rd at even-par 216 following his final round 1-over 73. Smith recovered from a 3-over 39 over the front nine to finish 2-under on the back as he was tied for the best on the team in par-three scoring at 1-over.
 
Jansen Smith tied for 41st with a 4-over 220, shooting a 2-over 74 in round three, with Marcel Rauch closing out the event with an 8-over 224 , coming off his final round 5-over 77. Hunter Walker shot a 12-over 228, including a 5-over 77 in round three, competing as an individual.
 
Little Rock closed out the final event of the fall season tied with San Francisco for third at 13-under 851, two shots back of East Tennessee State (15-under 849) in second and one shot better than South Florida's 12-under 852. All four of those teams qualified for the NCAA Championship this past June with the Buccaneers, Dons and Bulls all ranked among the GolfStat Top-30. Ole Miss won the team championship with a 26-under 838.
 
Little Rock now concludes a strong fall season, one which saw the Trojans finish in the top-five in all four events it competed in, including the team championship at the Little Rock Invitational. The Trojans finish the fall season with a team scoring average of 283.92, which would currently rank tops in program history.
 
Individually, Little Rock had a pair of Sun Belt Golfers of the Week in Magnus Lomholt (Sept. 16) and Anton Albers (Oct. 28) as the duo both finish the fall season averaging under par. Albers leads the team with a 69.44 scoring average while Lomholt sits at 70.08 as the duo each registered nine rounds of par or better this fall.
 
Little Rock will return to action in early February, traveling to Irving, Texas for the Individual Spring Kickoff on Monday, February 7. Anton Albers won the event this past February and will be looking to defend his individual title.
