Five Things to Know
- Two GOATS Walk Into an Arena
There will not be another regular season basketball game played this year with more coaching wins on a single floor than there will be Wednesday morning in College Station. Joe Foley and Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair have a combined 1,665 wins between the two of them. They are also two of the five* active coaches with over 800 career wins (this includes Rutgers head coach C. Vivian Stringer who is sitting out the season due to COVID-19 concerns regarding an at-risk family member).
- Nothing but Net
It comes as no surprise that with the first release of this season's NET ratings, Little Rock is atop the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans have an initial NET rating of 125, nearly 50 spots over the next best Sun Belt team (Louisiana, 170). Little Rock is also one of four Sun Belt teams (Louisiana, Troy, UT Arlington) to have a NET rating in the top 200.
- Facing the Best
Wednesday's game at No. 17/15 Texas A&M will mark the eighth consecutive year that Little Rock's Team will face a ranked opponent. Since the 2014-15 season the Trojans have faced at least one ranked team each season and Wednesday's battle makes this year no different than any other in that stretch. This game will mark the 10th time in the 14-game series history between the two teams that the Aggies enter as a ranked opponent. A&M is ranked 17th in the AP poll and 15th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
- Little Rock is Two-for-Two
...when facing Southeastern Conference opponents so far this year. When the Trojans held off Auburn in a 57-49 win on Nov. 24, Little Rock claimed its SECond win over the preeminent league as that victory followed a 56-40 dispatching of Vanderbilt on Nov. 12.
- Little Rock Stands Alone...
...as the only non-P5 team so far this season to record multiple wins over Southeastern Conference opponents. While some other teams have managed to claim wins against the competitive league, Little Rock is the only team to have found repeated success against the SEC. Two wins just means more than one.Â
