IRVING, Texas – Anton Albers captured the 2021 Individual Spring Kickoff at Las Colinas Country Club, posting a 1-under 141 in the one-day tournament. Albers placed first among the 52-player field, besting three competitors by one stroke to take the title.

Albers opened the day with a 1-over 72 over the opening 18 holes, then followed it up with a 2-under 69 over the afternoon round, vaulting from a tie for seventh into first. Starting on hole three, he birdied three, seven and 18 with a bogey on 16 his lone blemish of the round.
Albers was one of three Trojans to finish among the individual top-10 as
Logan Pate and
Ryan McNelis both tied for 10th at 3-over 145. Pate tallied a 2-over 73 in round one before notching a 1-over 72 in round two while McNelis reversed those scores, starting with a 72 in round one and a 73 in round two.
Marcel Rauch joined his teammates in the individual top-20, tying for 17th at 4-over 146. Rauch carded a 3-over 74 in round one and followed it up with a 1-over 72 in the afternoon round.
Nico Horder rounded out the Trojan scorecard with a 10-over 152 (78-74), tying for 36th.
The one-day individual tournament in the DFW Metroplex served as a warm-up event for the spring portion of Little Rock's 2020-21 schedule. No team scores were tallied as individuals from Arkansas, Arkansas State, Baylor, North Texas, Odessa College, SMU and Texas State all took part.
Little Rock's official team start to the 2021 spring schedule will be later this month in Laredo, Texas, as the Trojans will compete in the Border Olympics February 22 and 23.
