Trojans Set for NCAA Bermuda Run Regional with National Championship Berth on the Line

BERMUDA RUN, N.C. – Fresh off a second straight Ohio Valley Conference championship, Little Rock Men's Golf now turns its attention to the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional, where the Trojans will compete against some of the nation's top programs with a trip to the NCAA Championships at stake.

The regional will be held Monday through Wednesday at Bermuda Run Country Club's East Course in Bermuda Run, N. C. The top five teams at the conclusion of the 54-hole event will advance to the NCAA Championships later this month in Carlsbad, California.

Little Rock enters postseason play riding the momentum of another historic season under Head Coach Austin Eoff. The Trojans captured back-to-back OVC Championships earlier this spring and have consistently proven themselves against elite national competition throughout the year.

"Looking forward to the week out in North Carolina to punch our ticket to the national championship," Eoff said. "All the guys have been working hard on different things. I have not seen the course in person yet but it looks like wedge play and scoring will be a priority this week but we will see once we get on property.

"One of the biggest things this time of year is belief and confidence on the next shot and that will be our focus during the tournament to put us in a position on Wednesday to accomplish another one of our goals this season."

The Trojans will lean on a veteran lineup that has delivered in big moments all season long, led by OVC Player of the Year Ed Featherstone and All-OVC selections Rhett South, Viggo Talasmaki and Elliott Simonsen.

Featherstone, who has paced the Trojans throughout the season with one of the top scoring averages in the OVC, said the team's confidence has continued to grow during the spring.
"We know what we're capable of when we play our game," Featherstone said earlier this season. "Everybody believes in each other, and we've shown all year we can compete with anybody."

South has also emphasized the maturity and toughness this group has developed through a demanding schedule filled with nationally ranked competition.

"We've been battle-tested all year," South said. "We've put ourselves in tough situations against really good teams, and I think that's prepared us for this moment."

Little Rock's consistency has been a defining trait throughout the year. The Trojans earned multiple top-five finishes against nationally ranked fields and dominated the OVC Championship at Purdue's Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, posting a record-setting score in stroke play before rolling through match play to secure the league title.

The NCAA Regional field includes 13 teams and 10 individuals competing for a coveted berth in the national championship field.
Play begins Monday morning with 18 holes each day through Wednesday. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament.
