SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Hot and windy conditions were prevalent throughout the second round of the 2021 NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club as Little Rock slipped to 29th in the team standings. The Trojans posted a 24-over 304 in round two, sitting at 38-over 598 with 36 holes played.

After teeing off bright and early in round one, the Trojans were in the final grouping of the day in round two, getting underway at 1:20 p.m. in the heat of the Arizona sun. The heat and difficulty of the course at Grayhawk proved a challenge for nearly every team as just six of the 30 teams shot either even or below par on the day and just two sit under par after 36 holes.

Anton Albers shot the low round of the day for the Trojans with a 4-over 74, going 3-over on the front nine before rebounding with a 1-over on the back, the only blemish a double bogey on hole 18 as the sun was setting. Albers is at 10-over 150 through 36 holes, tied for second on the team.

Marcel Rauch continues to lead the Little Rock scorecard, notching a 6-over 76 in round two and sits at 7-over 147 after going three over on each of the front and back nine on Saturday. Rauch has a three shot lead on both Albers and Logan Pate, who carded a 7-over 77 to move to 10-over 150.

The round also had a special significance for Pate as it was the 119th of his Little Rock career, moving into first all-time in program history for career rounds played, surpassing Felipe Velazquez (2007-11) and Luke Bakke's (1999-04) previous mark of 118.

Nico Horder matched Pate with a 7-over 77 and sits at 13-over 153 through 36 holes. Magnus Lomholt rounds out the Trojan scorecard with a 17-over 157 following a 13-over 83 Saturday afternoon.

Entering the day tied for 24th, the Trojans slipped five spots to 29th, currently 18 shots out of the coveted 15th spot to advance to the fourth round on Monday. Little Rock trails both San Diego and Liberty (35-over 595) by three strokes and is eight shots out of 24th behind NC State (30-over 590), East Tennessee State (31-over 591) and UAB (32-over 592), holding a two-shot edge on 30th-place San Francisco.

Oklahoma State surged into the team lead with a 6-under on the day, sitting at 6-under 554 after round two and leading rival Oklahoma (1-under 559) by five shots. They are the only two teams to sit under par as Arizona State (2-over 562), Pepperdine (5-over 565) and Illinois and North Carolina (6-over 566) round out the top-six.

Little Rock hopes to make move in round three Sunday as only the top-15 teams will advance to Monday's final round. The Trojans will play with Liberty and San Francisco in the final round pairings and will once again be in the final grouping to get underway, getting underway at 1:20 p.m. MST (3:20 p.m. CT).
