Seventh annual event will honor Trojan Hall of Famer Steve Ralston

The Little Rock men's and women's golf teams are proud to announce Little Rock Athletics Hall of Famer Steve Ralston as this year's honoree. A former Trojan golfer, Ralston was a two-time NAIA All-American in 1973 and 1974, earning honorable mention honors in 1972. He was a three-year letterman at North Little Rock High School and was inducted into the UA Little Rock Athletics Hall of Fame in 1994.

Ralston pursued his degree in marketing from UA Little Rock from 1970-74 and has been a fixture in the Little Rock golf community ever since, serving as the head PGA Professional at Burns Park Golf Course since 1978. Ralston has won over 50 PGA tournaments and ProAm events, being named the Arkansas Chapter PGA Player of the Year six times. He was inducted into the ASGA Golf Hall of Fame in 2004, and has been active in giving back to the golfing community for over four decades.

This year's event comes on the heels of one of the most successful seasons in Little Rock golf history. The year was capped by the Trojan men qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the first time in program history after finishing second at the Sun Belt Conference Championship and fifth at the NCAA Stillwater Regional, finishing the year ranked 43rd nationally. The Trojan women also continue to see improvements under head coach Jenna Wylie, finishing seventh at the Sun Belt Championship and among the top-140 nationally with five golfers receiving WGCA All-American Scholar honors.

Please join us for a fun-filled round of golf at the beautiful Pleasant Valley Country Club. This unique event will allow you and your friends to play a shamble golf tournament paired with one of the talented golfers from the 2021-22 Little Rock men's and women's golf teams or a Little Rock Golf alumnus.

Every dollar raised will go directly to the golf teams for scholarships, travel, equipment and tournament  expenses. We expect a full field with early registration. Team entries will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, please contact Jake Harrington (Director of Golf) at 501-516-3531 or jxharrington@ualr.edu.
