Trojan Women Once Again Post Top-Five GPA Nationally for 2020-21

Little Rock's 3.917 GPA ranks fifth nationally among all Division I programs

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Little Rock's efforts in the classroom have paid off once again as the Trojans have been named to the 2020-21 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team, consisting of the top-25 teams with the highest cumulative team GPA. Little Rock's team GPA of 3.917 ranks fifth nationally as the Trojans are one of two Sun Belt teams among the nation's top-five.

The honor marks the third time in the last four years the Trojans have ranked among the nation's top-10 for cumulative GPA. Little Rock is coming off another strong semester in the classroom, boasting a department-best 3.88 GPA for the spring semester.

Five Little Rock golfers were named WGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month, tied for the second-most in program history and one shy of the six All-America Scholar selections in 2019. The Trojans had five golfers named to the prestigious team in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Malena AusterslaattTilde BockerKellie Gachaga and Sydney Scraba all finished the spring semester with a perfect 4.00 GPA as the quartet each earned the third WGCA All-America honors of their career. Austerslaatt and Gachaga have maintained a cumulative 4.00 GPA for their entire Little Rock careers while Bocker boasts a 3.96 and Scraba a 3.75.

Viktoria Krnacova registered a 3.93 during the spring and finished her first season in Little Rock with a cumulative GPA of 3.96. Agatha Alesson also had a strong academic semester in the spring, but was ineligible for consideration due to having played just half a season.

The efforts in the classroom marked improved success on the course as the Trojans ended the year ranked number 135 nationally, an improvement of over 50 spots from when Jenna Wylie took over as head coach in 2019. Little Rock won its first tournament title since 2016 during the spring season, registering three top-five and nine top-10 team finishes, including placing seventh at the Sun Belt Championship.

Founded in 1983, the WGCA is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing its members and the student-athletes they represent.
