BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock junior
Eleonore Aernouts has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Month for March, the league announced.
Aernouts delivered a strong and consistent month to lead the Trojans, recording a pair of top-13 finishes while averaging 73.5 strokes over six rounds. She highlighted her performance with a tie for ninth out of 84 competitors at the ULM Invitational, posting rounds of 73-73-71 to finish at 217 (+1), just three shots out of fifth place.
The junior from Elancourt, France, continues to pace the conference with a 74.6 stroke average and was the OVC Female Golfer of the Week this week.
Aernouts also led Little Rock at the Puerto Rico Iguana Invitational, finishing tied for 12th at +7 as the Trojans placed fifth in the eight-team field at the Flamboyan Course at Palmas Del Mar Country Club. Little Rock posted rounds of +17, +7 and +13 to finish at +37 overall. Georgia State claimed the team title at +13, followed by Central Arkansas (+16), Arkansas State (+20) and Ball State (+21).
"We're incredibly proud of Eleonore and the way she competed throughout the month," Little Rock head coach Jenna Birch said. "Her consistency, focus and ability to stay composed round after round really set the tone for our team. She's playing some of the best golf of her career right now."
Aernouts echoed that confidence, pointing to her steady approach throughout the month.
"I'm really happy with how I played in March and how our team competed," Aernouts said. "I've been working hard on staying consistent and trusting my game, and it's great to see that pay off. I'm excited to keep building heading into the rest of the season."
Little Rock has finished its regular season and is preparing for the OVC Championships that are scheduled for April 19-20 at Dalton, Ga.
