LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock looks to continue its hot start to the season with a showdown Thursday evening as play opens at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
The Trojans (3-0) will play in the tournament's opening game against host UCA (0-0), a match which will also count in the standings for the Governor's I-40 Showdown presented by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Sugar Bears canceled their opening weekend due to COVID concerns and will open the year facing Little Rock.
Series History
- Central Arkansas: Little Rock leads, 5-4 | Last Meeting: Little Rock won, 3-1 (9/14/2019 in Little Rock, Ark.)
- Memphis: Memphis leads, 10-8 | Last Meeting: Memphis won, 3-0 (9/2/2017 in Conway, Ark.)

Three Things to Know
- Can the Trojans Stay Hot?
Little Rock started the season off on the right foot in Fayetteville, winning the Arkansas Classic with three straight wins. But the competition in Conway will be much tougher and the Trojans will have to fight just as hard to remain unscathed after a second week of play. Little Rock hasn't started a season 5-0 since 2018 and has never posted a 6-0 start. Can history be made again?
- Three Times the Double Trouble
So far this season, three different Trojans have recorded double-doubles with Laura Jansen, Laure Jansen and Alyssa Nayar reaching that threshold. Laure Jansen, in just her third collegiate game, not only posted a double-double but had a 20-20 performance with 21 kills and 20 digs against the Razorbacks. Little Rock will need more of that this weekend.
- Bringing Home the Hardware
Will the Trojans continue to bring in the hardware for a second straight week? After one week of play, Little Rock brought home a Sun Belt Player of the Week (Zanobia Willis), a tournament MVP (Laura Jansen) and two all-tournament honorees (Laura Jansen, Alyssa Nayar).
