LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock will put the Sun Belt Conference's longest active winning streak on the line Friday against a team that has faced the league's toughest schedule when the Trojans open league play at Coastal Carolina Friday evening.
Â
The Trojans (9-3), winners of their past six, will face a battle-hardened Coastal Carolina (6-4) team Friday at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT before heading up the mountain to face App State (4-8) on Sunday. Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The Chanticleers are coming off a pair of matches at then-No. 14 Florida, like Little Rock, have recorded a win over a Power 5 school (Iowa).
Â
App State, which faces Arkansas State on Friday, has lost four of their last five games as well as having lost four of their last five meetings against the Trojans.

Three Things to Know
- Highs and Lows
This weekend's trip, which opens up Sun Belt Conference play, will witness the Trojans playing at their highest and lowest points of the season – literally. Conway, South Carolina is located at sea level so barring an unexpected game at Atlantis, this will be the lowest altitude Little Rock will travel to. Meanwhile at an elevation of 3,333 feet, Boone, North Carolina will be the highest elevation Little Rock will compete at in the regular season.
- They Have Power Wins in Common
Both Little Rock and Coastal Carolina have one thing in common entering Friday's match – they both have a win against a Power 5 opponent with both wins coming on August 28. Little Rock stunned Arkansas, 3-2, at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville that evening while the Chanticleers topped Iowa, 3-0, that night.
- Opening of the Sun
This weekend's action opens Sun Belt Conference play for all teams around the league, including Little Rock and Louisiana. The Trojans are 17-13 all-time in Sun Belt openers. Little Rock dropped its league opener last year in a thrilling five-set match against Louisiana, the first set of which lasted until 37-35.
