LITTLE ROCK – After a slow start in round one, Little Rock jumped six spots in round two to sit sixth among the 16-team field after 36 holes of the Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club. The Trojans recorded a 4-over 580 on day one, 11 shots off the tournament leader.

The Trojans had a sluggish start to its host tournament, firing a 12-over 300 over the opening 18 holes to sit tied for 12th among the team standings.
Archie Smith and
Magnus Lomholt led the charge with a 2-over 74 in round one, sitting tied for 31st individually, with
Matteo Cristoni and
Jansen Smith each posting a 4-over 76 to round out the first round Trojan scorecard.
Little Rock then began to find its rhythm on one of its home courses, carding the low round of the day with an 8-under 280 in round two to jump six spots to number 12. Three Trojans shot in the 60s in the afternoon round, led by a 6-under 66 from
Anton Albers, a 4-under 68 from
Archie Smith and a 3-under 69 from Lomholt.
After 36 holes,
Archie Smith sits atop the Little Rock scorecard with a 2-under 142, jumping 23 spots in round two with his 4-under 68 and is tied for seventh in the individual standings. Albers' 6-under 66 was tied for the day's low round as he vaulted 49 spots on the individual leaderboard, tied for ninth at 1-under 143. He is joined by Lomholt following his 3-under 69.
Matteo Cristoni and
Jansen Smith sit tied for 66th after the duo shot identical 9-over 153s, carding the 4-over 76 in round one and 5-over 77 in the afternoon round.
Four other Trojans are competing as individuals at their home tournament, led by
Nico Horder's 6-over 150, including a first round 2-over 74, tied for 44th.
Louis Talarczyk is tied for 76th with an 11-over 155 with
Ryan McNelis (14-over 158) and
Phisher Phillips (17-over 161) rounding out the competitors.
Little Rock leapfrogged six five schools in round two and currently sits one shot better than seventh-place UTEP (5-over 581) and two shots ahead of eighth-place North Texas (6-over 582). The Trojans are one shot back of fifth-place Michigan (3-over 579) and two shots behind ULM (2-over 578) in fourth.
VCU and Troy hold the team lead after 36 holes at 7-under 569, holding a three shot lead on third-place Southern Miss (4-under 572). The Rams and Trojans sit nine shots ahead of ULM and 10 shots ahead of Michigan as Little Rock is 11 shots off the team leaders heading into the final 18 holes.
Tuesday's final round begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start with Little Rock playing with Michigan and ULM, teeing off from holes four, five and six. Live scoring is available at
