City Slickers Rout Dairy Farmers on Saturday to Win Hiland Dairy Fall Classic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Outfielder Tyler Williams had another big day at the plate, hitting a grand slam and helping the City Slickers to a 2-1 series win in the Hiland Dairy Fall Classic. The Slickers put on a complete performance today, defeating the Dairy Farmers 12-1 at Gary Hogan Field.
 
Things were quiet through the first half of the game as starting pitchers Hoss Brewer and Jackson Wells each kept the opposition at bay. The scoring began in the fifth and the Slickers continued to add on from there.
 
Williams' performance earned him the honor of being named the series MVP. The Lilburn, Georgia native was 5-for-9 over the three games with a triple, three home runs and 10 RBI.
 
Notable Statistics:

• Williams (Slickers): 1-for-2 with a home run, four RBI
• Jaxson Anderson (Slickers): 2-for-3 with a home run
• Ty Rhoades (Slickers): 1-for-2 with two RBI
• Reed Willbanks (Slickers): 1-for-2 with two RBI

 

• Brewer (Farmers): 3.2 innings pitched, no runs on no hits with eight strikeouts
• Wells (Slickers): 3.1 innings pitched, no runs on one hit with four strikeouts
• Jacob Weatherley (Slickers): 1.2 innings pitched, no runs on no hits and two strikeouts

 
The Trojans will now turn their attention to outside competition. Little Rock will spend the week preparing for a trip across the Mighty Mississippi to play the Tigers of Memphis University next weekend in the final exhibition of the fall.
