Little Rock Athletics Announces Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Class

Pete Myers, Ryan Scott, Latasha “Fruity” Richard-Ketchum to be inducted

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Athletics announced the three newest inductees that have been selected for induction into the Little Rock Athletics Hall of Fame with Pete Myers, Ryan Scott and Latasha "Fruity" Richard-Ketchum comprising the 2023 Induction Class. The trio of Trojan greats will officially take their place among the long list of Little Rock's all-time greats during Hall of Fame Weekend, to be held Feb. 3-4, 2023.

The induction ceremony will be held for the honorees on Friday, Feb. 3, the night prior to Little Rock's basketball doubleheader against SIUE on Saturday, Feb. 4. The women's team will tip against the Cougars at 1 p.m. with the men starting at 3:30 p.m.

"We are so excited to be able to recognize these three individuals for what they have meant to their individual sports as well as our athletic department and University," said Director of Athletics George Lee. "Ryan Scott is quite possibly our most decorated student-athlete we've ever had here being the Sun Belt Male Student-Athlete of the Year and an All-American. This is his first year to be on the ballot which speaks to his many contributions to our baseball program. Pete Myers induction is long overdue for what he meant during his time at UA Little Rock and leading us to a program-defining win in our history with the 1986 NCAA Tournament victory over Notre Dame. For Latasha Richard-Ketchum, what she was able to accomplish across the board during her time and how many of those records still stand today just goes to show you how impressive of a student-athlete she was and how deserving she is of this honor."

A Letterman's social will be held that Friday, Feb. 3 at the Jack Stephens Center following the induction ceremony. All former letterwinners will have the opportunity to receive two complimentary tickets to the game on Feb. 4 and are invited to be recognized at halftime of the men's game with the Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Class.

With the additions of 2023 class, the Little Rock Athletics Hall of Fame now consists of 77 individuals and six teams.

Men's Basketball: Pete Myers (1984-86)
Myers came to UA Little Rock in 1983 and was named to the All-Trans American Athletic Conference (TAAC) team both his junior and senior years. Myers was part of one of the most historic seasons in school history as a member of the 1986 TAAC Tournament Championship team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The No. 14-seeded Trojans topped No. 3 seed Notre Dame, 90-83, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to advance to the NCAA Round of 32. Myers led the Trojans with 29 points in the game. A member of the 1,000-point club, Myers went on to be selected in the sixth round of the 1986 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls.

Baseball: Ryan Scott (2013-16)
The 2016 Sun Belt Student-Athlete of the Year, Scott hit .435 that season, a mark which led all NCAA Division I players. He became the first Trojan to earn Louisville Slugger First Team All-America honors after he broke Little Rock's single-season records for hits (94), RBIs (66), total bases (154) and batting average (.435). As a three-time All-American, Scott was also named the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and a was tabbed a First-Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball

Track & Field/Cross Country: Latasha "Fruity" Richard-Ketchum (1995-99)
Richard-Ketchum was a highly recognized distance runner that was one of the first Trojans to qualify and advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Between cross country, indoor season and outdoor season, she finished her career as an eight-time Sun Belt Champion, a 17-time All-Sun Belt Conference honoree, a two-time All-District honoree, was Little Rock's first All-Region runner and was the Sun Belt Conference's top point scorer in 1997, tallying 28.5 points. Her name is still listed 10 different times in the cross country and track and field record books including ranking ninth in cross country in the 5K (17:52), ranking third in the indoor distance medley relay when she anchored the team in 1997 (11:58.23) and third in both the outdoor 800m (2:08.97) and 10K (10:00.91). She advanced to the 1996 NCAA Cross Country Championships after competing in the 1995 and 1996 NCAA District Championships and ran at the 1998 NCAA Regional Championships.
