MONROE, La. – Little Rock had four different players reach double figures as the Trojans secured their fourth straight road victory in a 64-47 win at ULM Saturday afternoon.
Potter's 22 points led the Trojans (10-8, 5-3 Sun Belt) while
Tia Harvey scored 14 points. The Potter-Harvey duo were responsible for five of Little Rock's six 3-pointers in the game while
Dariel Johnson, who scored 10 points and grabbed a career-high five blocks, hit the other 3-pointer.
Azaria Robinson barely missed her first career double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds while Johnson, who grabbed nine boards as well, nearly registered a double-double in her second consecutive game.
ULM (4-18, 0-8) was led by Kyren Whittington's 25 points. While Linda van Schaik scored eight.
Little Rock never trailed and dominated for most of the 40 minutes, save for a late second quarter run that seeped into the third quarter with the Warhawks pulling within five. The Trojans responded with a 21-4 run that lasted nearly the remainder of the third period, pushing Little Rock's lead to 22 points.
The Trojans shot 45.5% from the field in the game and hit that mark despite a 23.1% in the final frame. The Maroon and Silver was 15 of 25 (60%) over the course of the second and third quarters.
Opening the game with a 12-4 run that forced a ULM timeout just six minutes in, Little Rock set the pace and controlled the action early. The Warhawks trimmed Little Rock's double-digit lead to five less than three minutes into the second half, prompting a Trojan timeout. That's when Little Rock went on the 21-4 run to regain control. ULM would get their deficit out of double figures the remainder of the game.
Seven of the eight Trojans to log minutes scored in the game and for the second consecutive outing, Little Rock recorded a positive assist-to-turnover ratio, logging 18 assists on 25 made baskets with 16 turnovers. Little Rock scored 20 points off 20 ULM turnovers.
Little Rock returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 8 as the Trojans host Philander Smith at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for fans.
