LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock has been picked eighth in the preseason Sun Belt poll, announced by the league office.
The Trojans tallied 63 total points in the poll, voted on by the league's head coaches. Little Rock finished eight points behind seventh-place Texas State and 11 behind sixth-place Troy, finishing ahead of ULM, App State, Georgia State and Arkansas State in the preseason poll.
South Alabama was tabbed as the preseason favorite, garnering seven first place votes and 139 total points, finishing 21 points better than Georgia Southern and 22 points ahead of both Coastal Carolina and Louisiana with the Chanticleers garnering three first place votes with a pair going to the Ragin' Cajuns.
The 2022 season will see a slight change to the league standings as the Sun Belt will forego the traditional divisional standings. The teams will be ranked 1-12, similar to men's and women's basketball, which will determine seeding for the 2022 Sun Belt Baseball Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama.
Little Rock returns nearly its entire starting lineup from last season's squad, including reigning Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year
Hayden Arnold. The Trojans have 32 home games at Gary Hogan Field this season, getting underway next weekend with a three-game series against Eastern Illinois. Season tickets are available by
