LAFAYETTE, La. – Little Rock finished ninth at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, carding a 6-over 870 at Oakbourne Country Club. The Trojans shot a 7-over 295 in round three, registering their seventh top-10 team finish of the 2021-22 season.

The Trojans were led by
Magnus Lomholt and
Jansen Smith, both of which tied for 31st in the individual standings at 1-over 217. Lomholt notched a 3-over 75 in round three while Smith posted a 4-over 76, marking the first tournament this season Little Rock did not have a top-10 individual finisher.
Marcel Raugh shot a 1-over 73 in round three, tying for 41st overall at 3-over 219.
Anton Albers responded from his highest round of the season to shoot a 1-under 71 in round three, closing out with a 4-over 220.
Archie Smith rounded out the Little Rock scorecard with an 8-over 80, shooting a 10-over 226.
Lomholt was the top Trojan on par-three holes, finishing the event at even par while J. Smith shot a 1-over. Lomholt was also even on the par-four holes while Rauch and J. Smith were both efficient on the par-five holes, finishing at 7-under. Rauch also led the team with 13 birdies in Louisiana, followed by 12 from Lomholt.
Entering the day seventh among the 17-team field, Little Rock slipped two spots to ninth as scores over the final nine holes led to the Trojans' falling in the team standings. The Trojans finished two shots better than 10th-place UT San Antonio (8-over 872), sitting four shots back of eighth-place Mississippi State's 2-over 866.
Texas A&M won the team title in record-breaking fashion, shooting a 47-under 817 to beat second-place LSU (35-under 829) by 12 strokes. North Texas (20-under 844) finished third with Ole Miss (13-under 851), Houston (8-under 856) and Kansas State (7-under 857) rounding out the top-six.
The tournament was the third in two weeks for Little Rock as the Trojans are in a stretch of five events in a span of two months. That run continues in California when Little Rock competes at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford, March 24-26 in Palo Alto.
