LITTLE ROCK - Senior
Anton Albers has been named the Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week following his impressive performance at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate earlier this week. It is the second Golfer of the Week honor of the season for Albers and the fourth for a Trojan this season.
Albers finished second at the event in Henderson, Nevada, with a 13-under 203, tied for the second-lowest individual tournament score in program history. Albers shot a 66-70-67 over the 54-hole event, finishing with 17 birdies and ranking second in par-four scoring (5-under) and tied for fourth in par-four scoring (8-under). Albers has now shot under par in all 12 rounds this season with six of those rounds in the 60s.Â
The effort from the Buchholz, Germany native helped lead Little Rock to a runner-up finish, shooting a 17-under 847. On the year, Albers has posted a 69.00 scoring average as he is currently ranked 44th nationally by GolfStat. The senior leads the Trojans with his 12 under par rounds and has finished in the top-10 in all four events he has competed at, lowering his career scoring average to 72.66.

Magnus Lomholt is also a two-time honoree ths season. Four of the seven weekly accolades of the year have gone to Trojan golfers, marking the most in a single season in program history.
Albers and the Trojans continue their busy start to the spring season, making the trip to Scottsdale, Arizona for the 2022 Desert Mountain Collegiate, being held Saturday and Sunday at Desert Mountain Golf Club.
