PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Little Rock is tied for eighth after the second round of the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional at PGA National, sitting at 21-over 597. The Trojans registered a 14-over 302, slipping one spot in the team standings.
2022 NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional Round Two Results
Little Rock opened round two going 9-over through the front nine after starting on hole one in the 7:25 a.m. CT flight.
Anton Albers paced the Trojans, going even through hole nine with one birdie and one bogey, one shot better than
Magnus Lomholt going 1-over.
The Trojans found success to start the back nine as the five went a combined 7-under on holes 10-12, including a birdie from each on the par-five 10th. But the challenging home stretch at PGA National again proved a challenge as Little Rock fell back to the 14-over 302.
Anton Albers leads Little Rock with a 2-over 146 after round two, including his even-par 72 Tuesday for his 20th par-or-better round this season. The senior is tied for 18th overall and holds a one shot lead on teammate
Magnus Lomholt, who is tied for 23rd at 3-over 147, including his 1-over 73 in round two.
Jansen Smith finishes round two tied for 34th at 6-over 150, shooting a 5-over 77 Tuesday.
Nico Horder sits tied for 50th with a 10-over 156 and
Marcel Rauch is tied for 56th with an 11-over 157 after the duo both shot an 8-over 80.
Little Rock sits in a three-way tie for eighth with San Diego and Davidson College at 21-over 597 as the trio is two shots behind seventh-place New Mexico (19-over). Little Rock will have its work cut out for it to make a return trip to the NCAA Championship as the Trojans enter Wednesday's final round 11 shots back of fifth-place College of Charleston (10-over 586).
Vanderbilt continues to hold the team lead after round two at 9-under 567, nine shots better than Florida State, which had the low round of the day at 9-under 279 to pull even-par (576). Florida (2-over 578) is third with South Florida (6-over 582) and College of Charleston rounding out the coveted top-five spots.
Little Rock will have 18 holes to make its case for Arizona and will play with New Mexico and San Diego in the final round pairings in wave two from hole one. Rauch will be the first Trojan to tee off at 7:25 a.m. CT, leading up to Albers' 8:09 a.m. CT tee time. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
