Little Rock Student-Athletes Post Top Grades in Spring Semester

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock student-athletes posted another stellar semester in the classroom, accumulating a departmental 3.268 GPA during the Spring 2022 semester. The cumulative GPA for the Trojans is 3.358, extending the department's streak.
 
The performance moves Little Rock's streak to 18 consecutive semesters above a 3.00, continuing to showcase the athletic department's commitment to success in the classroom.
 
"I am incredibly proud as our student-athletes to continue to set the standard in the classroom," said Director of Athletics George Lee. "Our teams are standard bearers both on our campus and in our region for their academic success as well as being competitive on the field or court. I am appreciative of the efforts of Maggie Strange, Dr. Johnathan Farrar, Andrea Estrada and our entire academic staff for their tireless work in helping our student-athletes succeed in the classroom."
 
Nearly one-fifth of all Trojan student-athletes (52) achieved a 4.0 GPA over the course of the spring semester with over 64% of student-athletes recording a 3.0 or better GPA. Nearly 40% of Little Rock student-athletes registered a GPA of 3.5 or better. Every single Little Rock team had at least one student-athlete record a 4.0 GPA in the spring semester.
 
Most impressively, 14 of Little Rock's 15 teams have an overall (cumulative) GPA of 3.0 or better. Additionally, 10 of Little Rock's 15 athletic programs finished both the spring 2022 semester and the 2021-22 academic year with a GPA of 3.00 or higher.
 
Women's Golf boasted the top team performance of the spring with a 3.787 GPA as the team had five golfers with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Men's Golf closely followed with a 3.753 GPA while Swimming & Diving (3.531) and Soccer (3.523) each posted exemplary marks.
 
Women's golf boasted the top team performance of the fall with a 3.676 GPA with four of the eight golfers posting a perfect 4.00. Soccer closely followed with a team GPA of 3.628 with 52% of the roster – an incredible 14 soccer student-athletes – registering a perfect 4.00 GPA. Men's golf registered a 3.572 GPA while volleyball posted a 3.542 GPA.
