Jansen Smith notched a runner-up showing and sophomore
Matteo Cristoni posted his second-straight top-five individual finish, guiding Little Rock to a tie for second at the 2022 Windon Memorial Classic. The Trojans posted a 5-over 285 in round three, finishing the event with a 7-over 847.

Smith finished one shot back of the individual leader for the second runner-up showing of his Little Rock career, notching a 5-under 205 following his final round 2-over 72. Smith finished the tournament even on both par-three and par-four scoring, shooting 5-under on the par-five holes and tying for third. His 12 birdies tied for second as his 205 is tied for the fifth-lowest individual tournament in program history.
Cristoni tied for fourth following his 2-under 208, shooting a 1-over 71 in round three. Cristoni has registered back-to-back top-five finishes, tying for third at the Olympic Club Intercollegiate, finishing even on par-three scoring, 1-over on par-four holes and 3-under on par-fives. His 37 pars was the most for the team in the Chicago suburbs as he was one of nine players to record an eagle.
Archie Smith finished with the low round of the day for Little Rock, shooting a 1-under 70 to finish tied for 28th overall with a 5-over 215.
Nico Horder tied for 52nd with an 11-over 221, shooting a 4-over 74 in round three, with
Anton Albers' 2-over 72 propelling him to a 13-over 223, tying for 59th.
Little Rock was one of the toughest teams in par-five scoring, finishing at 15-under for the tournament and one back of host Northwestern. The Trojans finished fourth in par-four scoring at 22-over and were 15-over on par-three holes, registering 172 total pars to finish tied for fourth overall.
Host Northwestern captured the team title with a 2-under 838, including a 10-under 270 over the final round, to jump five spots and take its home event. The Trojans tied with Kent State for second at 7-over 847, one shot better than both Marquette and North Florida at 8-over 848.
The runner-up finish in the Chicago suburbs starts a busy stretch for Little Rock as the Trojans are set to compete in four tournaments in four weeks to close out the fall season. The next event comes next week when Little Rock heads to Dallas for the Trinity Forest Invitational October 2-4.
