LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Athletic Department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their Sportsmanship Student-Athletes of the Month. Sophomore
Lindsey Cross, a member of the volleyball team, and junior
Matthew Fox, a member of the track and field team, earned the honor for October.
SAAC sent out a form throughout the month of October to all student-athletes to vote on the the teammate that had the best sportsmanship.
Lindsey Cross, Volleyball
- She is a very supportive teammate and is always pushing me to do my best.
- She treats everyone with respect and always is trying to help others giving advice or support.
- Always positive no matter the amount of playing time received ... She is always supportive.
- She is always there for her teammates and looks out for us.
- Always having a positive attitude
Matthew Fox, Track & Field
- He always has great energy leaving the weight room when we're about to go in there. He is positive and encouraging.
- He is constantly bringing people up, not just on his team, but those on other teams too.
- Matt shows up to every game with energy and even gives us compassionate pep talks every once in a while! He's extremely energetic and always motivational!
- He always puts the team first. He has great energy and passion.
Little Rock's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on their experience. These student-athletes also offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on Little Rock's campus. Members of Little Rock's SAAC have the opportunity to address issues affecting student-athletes at their institution or in their conference; furthermore, members have the opportunity to offer input on issues that may be national in scope.
Through the grass-roots efforts of the campus SAACs communicating with the conference SAACs, and the conference SAACs communicating with the national SAAC, student-athletes have the opportunity to change the face of intercollegiate athletics.
