LAFAYETTE, La. – The Trojans continued their impressive Spring tournament streak, finishing second among the 14-team field at the 38
th Annual Louisiana Classics tournament with a 25-over 877. The team scores improved with each round of play, finishing with the fourth-best team round in the tournament in round 3 with a 6-over 290.

After tying for second at the 2023 Desert Mountain Collegiate last week, Little Rock has now finished first or second in six of its eight tournaments this season.

Anton Albers came out on top of the leader boards, notching his fourth career win with a 1-under 212. Albers is now tied with Daniel Fox for the most career wins in program history with four. This excellent performance also moved him into second for all time rounds played as a Trojan with 119, only one round behind the current record holder, Logan Pate.

Also finishing in the top-20,
Archie Smith shot an 8-over 22, tying him for 12
th place. Smith has now finished top-20 in his last four tournaments and holds a 72.48 scoring average.

Jansen Smith just missed the top-20, finishing tied for 21
st with an 11-over 224. Smith finished day one tied for 33
rd with a 10-over 152, but shot a 1-over 72 in round three to climb up the leader board.
Magnus Lomholt finished round one leading the Trojans, carding a 2-over 73, but struggled on the front nine in round two and ended the tournament with a 16-over 229 to tie for 40
th.
Matteo Cristoni rounded out the Trojans' scorecard, finishing tied for 43
rd with a 17-over 230 (80-73-77).

Entering day two in fourth place, Little Rock bested Sam Houston State by seven strokes in the final round to finish runner-up to Texas A&M, who finished with a 14-over 866. LSU finished in fourth at 38-over 890, just four strokes ahead of the hosts, Louisiana (42-over 894) to round out the top five.

Albers' 69-stroke second and third rounds led the low scores for the tournament and Cristoni's two eagles were the most by any player. Little Rock tied with LSU and Sam Houston for most pars (164) and ranked second in par 4's at 30-over with a 4.18 average. The Trojans also tied with LSU for most eagles with three.

The Trojans have a well-deserved two week break from competition with their next showing not until March 30 - April 1 when they'll head out west for The Godwin at TPC Harding Park in Palo Alto, Calif.
