Bella Cherry, Andrea Román ink National Letters of Intent with the Trojans

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Volleyball Coach Van Compton announced the addition of two signees to her program Monday. Bella Cherry and Andrea Román will join the Trojans for the 2023 season.

Cherry is a 6-foot-0 outside hitter and right-side hitter from Texarkana, Texas and spent the past four years leading her team. As a high school senior last fall, Cherry earned all-state and academic all-state honors while also being named to the 5A THSCA State Super Elite Team. Her father, Mike, won two Ohio Valley Conference football championships as quarterback at Murray State before being selected in the sixth round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

Román is a 5-foot-4 defensive specialist/libero from Humacao, Puerto Rico, where she lettered in volleyball and tennis at Saint Francis School. She led her volleyball team to multiple tournament championships.

Little Rock enters the 2023 season this fall with the core of the team back from last season. The Trojans were one of the youngest teams in the conference last year and look to improve this fall.
