BRYAN, Texas – Jansen Smith finished among the individual top-20 as Little Rock placed ninth at the 2023 Aggie Invitational at the Traditions Club. The Trojans closed out the event at 13-over 877, including a final round 9-over 297.

Smith tied for twelfth among the 76-player field with a 2-under 214, including a team-best 3-under 69 in the second round. Smith's 69 in the second round and even 72 in the third mark his 27
th and 28
th career par-or-better rounds, tying him for eleventh all time in the Little Rock record books. It is the seventh top-20 showing in ten tournaments this year for Smith as he boasts a season scoring average of 71.87.
Magnus Lomholt was the second highest Trojan in the rankings, tying for 34
th with a 4-over 220, highlighted by a 1-under 71 in the first round. He was followed by
Nico Horder and
Anton Albers, who finished with a 6-over 222 and 7-over 223, respectively. Horder led the Trojans in par 4 holes with a 4.07 scoring average.
Archie Smith tied for 61
st with a 12-over 228 to finish out the Trojan scorecard.
The Trojans finished day one in fifth among the 13-team field, but faced challenges on the front nine and finished in ninth for their final regular season event. Louisville walked away with the team title, finishing with a 12-under 852, three strokes ahead of host Texas A&M who shot 9-under 855. The Trojans ended regular season play with 287.50 scoring average, led by
Jansen Smith's 71.87.
With the conclusion of the Aggie Invitational, Little Rock now sets its sights on their first Ohio Valley Conference Championship as the Trojans look to make their mark in a new conference coming off of their Sun Belt Conference Championship title last year. The 2023 conference tournament will be held April 23-26 at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
