LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Matilda Horton and
Allison Stigarll both posted wins while Horton set the Coleman Sports Complex record in the 10K as action opened up at the Little Rock Invitational Thursday evening on the Trojans' home campus.

Horton's 10,000m time of 37:24.09 sets a new record in the event as she won the race.

In the women's hammer throw, Stigarll's throw of 162-10 (49.64m) won the competition and recorded the third-best mark in school history.
Aaliyah Mathis finished sixth with a throw of 135-3 (41.23m).

On the men's side,
Isaiah Parker's throw of 165-5 (50.43m) placed him fourth while
Desmond Frazier finished ninth, recording the ninth-best mark in school history as he threw 146-8 (44.70m). Ryan Davis set a new facility record in the event with a throw of 218-9 (66.68m).

In the men's 10,000m,
Aaron Soltmann finished second as his time of 32:27.83 is a new career-best time.
Joel Allen followed in third, running 34:08.40.

The Trojans lead on both sides after the first day of competition. Little Rock's women are at the head of the pack with 24 points while Southern Arkansas is second with nine points and UAPB and Arkansas Tech are tied for third with eight points. Central Arkansas is fifth with seven points while Jarvis Christian's one point places them sixth.

On the men's side, the Trojans lead with 21 points while Central Arkansas is in a close second, scoring 18 points. UAPB's 13 points places them third while Southern Arkansas is fourth with 11 points.

Action at the Little Rock Invitational resumes Friday with field events starting at 10 a.m. and running events beginning at 1:30 p.m.
