LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Trojans will begin a five game road swing with a trip down to Oxford, Mississippi to pay a visit to the defending national champion Ole Miss on Tuesday at Swayze Field.
Â
Last Time Out
Over the weekend the Trojans dropped two out of three to a visiting New Orleans squad at Gary Hogan Field. Little Rock's two losses on Friday and game two of Sunday's doubleheader were decided by late runs scored by the Privateers. The Trojans were able to win the first game of the doubleheader on Sunday by a score of 6-3 behind a strong start from
Noah Burkey and a pair of two run homeruns off the bats of
Tyler Williams and
Luke Pectol. In the victory, all of Little Rock's runs came on just three separate hits with the homers accounting for four runs and a two RBI single that was slapped through the left side by
Christian Bernabe being the other. Prior to the weekend series, the Trojans won on Tuesday at Central Arkansas to clinch the season series between the programs with one game to go on May 16 at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Scouting the Rebels
Ole Miss enters Tuesday's midweek game with an overall record of 23-21 and are currently on a one game winning streak after walking off Georgia last Sunday. Last week the Rebels dropped a non-conference midweek game against Mississippi State before winning two of three against Georgia at home over the weekend. The Rebels are currently in last place in the SEC West division with a record of 5-16 in conference play. Junior Kemp Alderman is having an incredible season for Ole Miss, batting .374 on the year with an OPS of 1.184. The Decatur, Mississippi native has hit 18 homers and leads the team in hits and total bases with 65 and 130 respectively. Freshman Brayden Jones has been good out of the bullpen with a season ERA of 2.39 in 16 appearances and 26.1 innings pitched. Opposing batters are hitting .265 against the righthander and he has struck out 25 compared to 14 base on balls.
Â
Series History
The Trojans are behind in the all-time series against Ole Miss with the Rebels holding a 20-5 record in games played between the two programs. The last time the two teams met was in 2021 with Ole Miss winning two five-run games a few weeks apart on April 20 (11-6, Ole Miss) and May 12 (9-4, Ole Miss). Little Rock's last win over the Rebels came on April 7, 2010, when the Trojans fought back from down three and scored seven runs over the final three frames to take the win.

Three Things to Know
- Little Rock was able to make progress in the OVC standings this past weekend despite playing a non-conference series against New Orleans. UT Martin won two of three against Morehead State to even the OVC records of the Trojans and MSU at 10-5 for a two way tie for second place in the standings.
- With Sunday's win over New Orleans, Coach Chris Curry took another step forward toward his 200th victory as the head coach for Little Rock. Tuesday's game will serve as another chance to clinch the milestone ahead of a trip to Southern Indiana and return to OVC play.
- Little Rock sits atop of the OVC in team batting average and ERA and are the only team with an above .290 and sub five team averages. The Trojans have done an excellent job on the pitching side of limiting extra base hits from opposition, giving up a league low 30 homers on the year and are top three in doubles allowed as well as triples allowed. Offensively, Little Rock excels at driving the ball with the second highest slugging percentage in the league at .459.
Camden Sargent is expected to get the nod to begin against Ole Miss tomorrow and he will be facing off against Jordan Vera.
