Three Things to Know
  1. Third Time's the Charm?
Little Rock's Ryan Curington (long jump) and Johnathan Jones (high jump) are both making their third consecutive appearance at the NCAA West Prelims this week. Both are looking to advance to the semifinal round for the first time in their careers. Meanwhile Cogan DeRousselle (4x100m relay) and Troy McKnight (4x100m relay) will compete in their second consecutive NCAA West Prelims. TaVieon Neal has qualified for two NCAA West Prelims in the 100m dash and 4x100m relay but will be making his first appearance at this year's edition after an injury forced him to scratch his 2022 appearance.
  2. We're Having a Record Year
Little Rock heads to the West coast this weekend late in a season where the Trojans are completely rewriting the record books. Entering this week's action, there have been five (three men's, two women's) school records broken this year with a combined 58 performers recording marks ranking in the top-10 in school history.
  3. Cali-Boy
Johnathan Jones may be from Little Rock (the city), but he is quickly becoming a Cali-boy. This marks his second trip to California this season after competing in the high jump invitational at the Mt. SAC Relays in April. However, the kid repping the 501 is looking for a better outcome this week than in April, not clearing a height as he was battling an injury at the time.
