LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Basketball Coach
Darrell Walker announced the signing of Jaylen Crocker-Johnson to a National Letter of Intent Thursday.
Â
Crocker-Johnson, a 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward, recently graduated from Warren High School in San Antonio, Texas where he left as the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder.
Â
"Jaylen is an incoming freshman that has size and a big upside," Walker said of his newest signee. "I look forward to good things to come from him in the future as he grows and matures."
Â
A three-star recruit according to ESPN, Crocker-Johnson led Warren to a pair of district championships and twice was named his district's MVP.
Â
This past season, Warren accumulated a 31-7 record thanks, in large part, to the efforts of Crocker-Johnson. He averaged 21.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.3 blocks per game for the Warriors while shooting 54% from the floor. In all, he totaled 832 points, 454 rebounds, 98 assists, 45 steals and 88 blocks on the year as he guided Warren to a second consecutive regional semifinal appearance.
Â
That followed a junior campaign where he led the Warriors to a 29-9 mark as he averaged 20.9 points, 13.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 17 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the field. He tallied 732 points, 485 rebounds, 37 steals and 61 blocks in all that year while taking Warren to the regional semifinals.
Â
Crocker-Johnson marks the second addition that Little Rock has announced for the upcoming 2023-24 season, along with Little Rock native Creed Williamson.
