LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Former Trojan Nikki Metcalfe dropped 17 points in 35 points in her last outing as she led a group of Little Rock players among the professional ranks recently.
Metcalfe (6-2/F, graduated 2023, plays pro in Australia) could not help Melbourne Tigers (8-9) in their last game. Despite her very good performance the 11th-placed Melbourne Tigers lost 75-88 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#4) Frankston Blues in the South group. Metcalfe was the second-best scorer with 17 points in 35 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only her first season in pro basketball. This year Metcalfe averages 9.4 ppg and 4.1 rpg in 14 games she played so far.
Angelique Francis (5-11/F, played in 2019-23, plays in Australia) is a teammate of the previously mentioned Metcalfe and both played together in the last Australian NBL One game. Francis was not able to help Melbourne Tigers in their game against Frankston Blues (12-5). She scored five points, had six rebounds and dished three assists. The 11th-placed Melbourne Tigers (8-9) were defeated 88-75 in Seaford by the much higher-ranked Frankston Blues (#4) in the South group. This season Francis averages 5.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 1.3 apg.
