LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Volleyball Coach
Van Compton announced her program's 2023 non-conference schedule which includes four invitationals, two which are in state. The Trojans kick-off competition season in Jonesboro, Ark. at the A-State Invitational on August 25th.
"We are looking forward to our non-conference schedule," said Compton. "We start at Arkansas State at their tournament, and that is always exciting because it is a Sun Belt Conference school. We will also compete against other good schools there. All of our tournaments are in close proximately, so I feel like we are not going to wear the team out going hours and hours to play three matches."
Little Rock will face Arkansas State, North Alabama, and Louisiana Tech during the first weekend of play August 25-26.
The Trojans then travel to the Central Arkansas Invitational September 1-2 to compete against the host school as well as Southeastern Louisiana and Jackson State. Little Rock will compete at the Louisiana Tech Invitational September 7-8 against Grambling State, Lamar, and Louisiana Tech, before ending the non-conference schedule against Memphis, Southern Miss, and Arizona State at the Beale Street Challenge September 15-16.
"I think it is a good level of volleyball for us at this moment, because we have five Freshmen," said Compton. "We are looking forward to this."
Compton encourages the fans to come to the tournaments to support the Trojans. "It is in driving distance if anyone wants to come watch us in the tournaments. Hopefully, we will see some of our fans show up at the gyms."
