LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Track and Field Teams hosted the first day of the Little Rock Invitational on Friday. The Trojans had six athletes place in the top ten of their events.
DAY ONE RESULTS
Matthew Fox won the men's pole vault securing the first place finish with a personal best vault of 14-9 (4.50m). His distance now ties him fourth in Little Rock records.
Ethan Sorrels placed second with a vault of 14-3.25 (4.35m), while
Patrick Young recorded a distance of 13-9.25 (4.20m) for a third place finish and tying his personal best.
Casey Griffin placed fifth in the men's hammer with a personal best throw of 177-8 (54.16m) to rank him second in school records.
In the women's hammer,
Alison Stephens was the top Trojan finisher with a distance of 158-3 (48.23m).
Aaliyah Mathis placed 12th with a throw of 134-11 (41.14m), while
Kiara Moss used a personal best throw of 112-2 (34.18m) for a 19th place finish and to rank her ninth in school records.
Day two of the Little Rock Invitational will begin at 10 a.m. with the men's javelin. The running events will start at 1 p.m. with the men's 4x100m relay. A kids 100m dash is open to all children 10 and under at 2 p.m.
At 12:20 p.m., fifteen seniors will be honored at the meet.
