Box Score MARTIN, Tenn.- Little Rock rides hot bats with the first 5-home run game since 2014 as the Trojans roll past UT Martin 9-6.
How It Happened
The Skyhawks jumped out to an early lead in the second inning putting a 1-run lead.
Noah Brewer knotted it up in the top of the third with a solo shot over centerfield. Brewer earned his third home run of the year.
It was radio silence in the fourth inning as both teams would go scoreless. In the top of the fourth,
Skyler Trevino stepped to the plate and sent a ball over the centerfield wall and back to Little Rock with a solo home run to give the Trojans the lead.
Nico Baumbach then stepped up with 2 on base and earned a home run of his own padding the Little Rock lead. Heading into the home half of the inning, The Trojans held a 5-1 lead. The Skyhawks responded in the bottom of the inning with 2 runs to cut the lead to 5-3.
Little Rock scored one run in the sixth as
Skyler Trevino hit his second home run of the day pushing the lead 7-3. In the seventh inning,
Luke Pectol added to the Trojan home run count with a solo shot over the right field wall. Pectol's home run would prove to be vital as the Skyhawks would respond with a 3-run inning making the score 7-6 after 7 innings.
Little Rock would add 2 runs in the eighth to seal the deal following an RBI single by
Luke Pectol bringing
Skyler Trevino home and an RBI hit by pitch from
Nico Baumbach which brought
Noah Brewer home.
The Trojans hit 5 total home runs for the first time since 2014 and the fourth time in program history.
The rubber match of the series is set for 1 p.m. tomorrow and will eb streamed on ESPN+.
