Little Rock Baseball Returns to Gary Hogan Field for a Conference Series Against Eastern Illinois

Trojans will play host to Eastern Illinois for a conference weekend series set to start Friday at 6 p.m.

LITTLE ROCK- Little Rock Baseball is back at Gary Hogan Field to take on Eastern Illinois in OVC action. Trojans look to win fifth consecutive conference series and fifth consecutive home series. 

Series History
Little Rock is an even 7-7 against Eastern Illinois. The last time these teams saw each other resulted in the Trojans being eliminated from the OVC Tournament. The Panthers are riding a 3-game win streak against the Trojans.

Scouting the Panthers
Eastern Illinois sits at sixth place in the OVC after winning the OVC tournament last season. Entering the game, the Panthers are hitting to a .287 batting average scoring 230 runs off 326 hits, 38 home runs, 209 RBI, 139 walks, and 237 strikeouts. The Panther pitching rotation currently holds a 7.87 ERA conceding 281 runs off 334 hits, 187 walks, 46 home runs, and 258 strikeouts.

Trojans enter the weekend series going 3-1 after a 2-1 series win over UT Martin and a midweek win over Central Arkansas. In the last four, Little Rock has outscored opponents 27-22 averaging just under 7 runs a game. After losing the opening game against UT Martin, Trojans boast a 3-game win streak. 

As a team, Little Rock is hitting to a .237 batting average scoring 27 runs on 32 hits, 9 home runs, 26 RBI, 21 walks, and 30 strikeouts.
