LITTLE ROCK — The Little Rock Volleyball squad will see its first action Friday evening when the Trojans host Ouachita Baptist University for an exhibition match at 6 pm in the Jack Stephens Center. A weekend of exhibition play will conclude the following afternoon when the Trojans host their annual Alumni Match on Saturday at 2 pm.
Little Rock, coming off a 10-18 season last year, returns 10 lettermen from an eighth-place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference in a year that ended in the first round of the conference tournament against Eastern Illinois, which swept both the regular season and tournament titles before falling in the opening round of the NCAAs.
The Trojans will be led by senior captain
Jeila Fullerton and junior Keila Harris, as well as sophomore
Bella Cherry, an OVC Player to Watch entering the 2024 season. The Trojans also return junior
Rylee McClintock, sophomores
Andrea Roman,
Dariana Valencia,
Kaylee Smith,
Sophia Garrido, and
Mihaly Carmona.
New to the squad for 2024 are junior transfers
Polianna Hernandez (New Mexico JC) and A'lanae Margaritha (Polk CC), and incoming freshman
Lauren Foreman (Lakeside HS, Hot Springs).
The regular season gets underway Aug. 30 with the Trojans competing at the Lion Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce. Little Rock's home opener is Sept. 19 against Central Arkansas and OVC play begins Sept. 27-28 when the Trojans host UT Martin.
