Little Rock Men's Golf finishes in Top 10 at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Little Rock fell out of the top five during Tuesday's final round of the Bearcat Invitational, but still salvaged a Top 10 finish at Coldstream Country Club. Archie Smith fired a final round of 72 (+1) and finished 14^th overall, while Freddie Turnell also earned a Top 25 finish.
 

"Obviously a tough day on a difficult golf course. We struggled on the birdie holes and just couldn't recover after that. A combination of short sides, three-putts, and not playing the par 5s well. A solid event for Archie as he hit the ball very well all three rounds. We'll get back to work at home and get ready for Notre Dame in a few weeks." — Little Rock head coach Austin Eoff 

Smith turned in two-day totals of 72-70-72 for a 1-over 214 on the Par 71 course, while Turnell finished 24^th with a 72-69-75 total of 3-over 216. Matteo Cristoni (+4) finished 30^th, Rhett South (+7) ended the event 47^th and Ed Featherstone finished 24-over.
 
The Trojans will have three weeks off from competition to prepare for a tough Fighting Irish Classic in South Bend, Indiana, hosted by Notre Dame on Oct. 6-7. The following week (Oct. 14-15), Little Rock will host the Everett Buick GMC Classic at Chenal Country Club.
