LITTLE ROCK, AR.— The Trojans have traveled to Cookeville, Tennessee, and will face off against the Lindenwood Lions tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the semifinal round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Little Rock earned a first-round bye after finishing second in the conference standings.
Series History
The Trojans and Lions meet for the second straight match after drawing 1-1 in Little Rock to close out the regular season. That result earned Little Rock the No. 2 seed for the second straight year going into the championship postseason.
Season Review
Heading into the postseason as the No. 2 seed for the second consecutive year, Little Rock has built its success on both ends of the pitch. Offensively, the Trojans have displayed a dangerous attack capable of scoring in a variety of ways, with key contributions from across the roster helping the team remain among the OVC's most efficient scoring groups. Defensively, the back line and goalkeeping unit have been a consistent anchor, posting one of the lowest goals-against averages in the league.
The Trojans' efforts have been recognized across the conference, with Maria Schuller, Amaya Arias, Peyton Urban, and Candice Kilderry earning All-OVC First Team honors, while freshman Emily Nahon was named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team following a standout debut season.
"Tomorrow is a massive matchup for us. The team has worked so hard and done an incredible job to put us in this position. They are ready and know that they have something to prove. Tournament time is what we work all year for and we are ready to fight to continue competing," said Head Coach Kelly Farrell.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday in Cookeville. The match will be live-streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available as well. All links can be found on LRTrojans.com or on the official OVC website. The winner will advance to the OVC Championship to face either Southern Indiana or Tennessee Tech.
