Baseball opener changed due to weather, now set for Friday doubleheader

Series finale will take place Sunday afternoon

The Little Rock Baseball season opener will look a little different on the schedule, but will still begin Friday as planned despite an adjustment made due to anticipated rainfall this weekend. The Trojans were originally slated to open the season with a three-game series against Evansville on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but will now play a doubleheader Friday and conclude the series Sunday afternoon. With heavy rain expected for the majority of Saturday, no game will be played on that day.

Friday's doubleheader at Gary Hogan Field will begin at 12 pm, with the second game to begin 40 minutes after the conclusion of the opener. Sunday's finale will begin at 1 pm. This weekend series will be the Trojans' only home appearance until Feb. 26, when they return to host Memphis.

Little Rock welcomes an Evansville team that went 39-26 a year ago, won the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals where the Aces fell in three games to eventual national champion Tennessee.
