Trojans Charge into Final Round at Hawkeye Invitational, Sit Second After Two Rounds

IOWA CITY, IA.-The Little Rock Trojans wrapped up an impressive first two rounds at the 2025 Hawkeye Invitational. The windy conditions didn't stop the Trojans, who sit in second place with a team total of 558, 18-under par. They trail Kansas by eight strokes heading into the final round at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa, with standout performances across the board keeping them well within striking distance of the title.

Leading the charge for Little Rock is Ed Featherstone, who finds himself tied for third individually after posting back-to-back under-par rounds. Featherstone opened the tournament with a 69, carding five birdies, eleven pars, and just two bogeys. He followed that up with a blistering 67 in round two, highlighted by back-to-back birdies on the front nine and only one bogey.

Right behind him is Matteo Cristoni, who sits in sixth place after rounds of 67 and 71. His opening round featured six birdies and only one bogey, while round two saw him add three more birdies alongside thirteen pars and two bogeys. Cristoni's steady play has resulted in a two-round total of 138, six-under par.

Rhett South sits tied for 19th after rounds of 73 and 70. He began the tournament with a one-over 73, making three birdies and three bogeys. South bounced back in round two with a solid two-under 70 to move up the leader board and contribute key points to the Trojans' total.

Archie Smith made one of the biggest improvements between rounds for the Trojans. After an opening round 76, Smith rebounded with a strong 70 in round two. He tallied five birdies and ten pars on Sunday, lifting him into a tie for 32nd. Smith's two-day total stands at 146, two-over par.

Also tied for 32nd is Freddie Turnell, who opened the tournament with a solid 71. Round two proved more challenging, as Turnell posted a 75 with two birdies.
