Streaking Trojans head to No. 11 Ole Miss Tuesday

First pitch is set for 11 a.m.

After sweeping a series at Morehead State over the weekend, the Trojans have one more stop before they head home. The pit stop is a significant matchup at SEC power Ole Miss. Ole Miss is ranked No. 11 in this Week's Baseball America Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. The game is set for 11 a. m. at Swayze Field and can be streamed with ESPN+.

Ole Miss leads the series 22-5 and has won the past 10 meetings. All of the games between the two programs have been played on the Ole Miss campus. The Trojans (15-19, 5-6 OVC) did beat Ole Miss 9-6 in 2010. Since then, there have been other close games, including a 2-1 setback in 2014, a 5-4 loss in 10 innings in 2017 and a 12-10 defeat in 2023.

The Rebels (27-9, 9-6 SEC) are coming off a tough league series against then-ranked No. 5 Tennessee. The defending College World Series champs took two of three from the Rebels on their home field last weekend.

Ole Miss has only lost one midweek game this season, a 14-5 defeat at South Alabama March 11.
The Rebels hit .296 as a team and are led by Luke Hil, who owns a .358 average. He also has slugged 7 home runs and driven in 28.
Ole Miss has hit 71 total home runs, which is No. 8 nationally.

Judd Utermark, who hits .304, leads the team in home runs (11) and RBI 37. Isaac Humphrey, Mitchell Sanford, Ryan Moerman and Austin Fawley all have nine home runs apiece.
Sophomore Zack Busick will start on the mound for the Trojans. This will be his third start this year.

Little Rock will have a day to rest before it begins its Ohio Valley Conference series this week. The Trojans welcome Western Illinois to Gary Hogan Field for a series that begins Thursday at 6 p.m. Friday's game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with the finale on Saturday scheduled for 1 p.m.
