LITTLE ROCK, AR. – On the strength of his best outing as a Little Rock Trojan, the Ohio Valley Conference announced freshman Freddie Turnell as its Golfer of the Week on Thursday. Turnell finished first overall this past week at The Goodwin, held at Stanford, leading the Trojans to a 13th-place finish. The freshman from England posted a score of 66 (-4), with an eagle and four birdies highlighting his final round. The Trojans continue to hold the No. 40 national ranking heading into the final weeks of their season.
"Another golfer of the week for Freddie for the third time this spring. He is putting together A very nice spring season and looks to carry that momentum to Iowa and then into the postseason. We now have the OVC Golfer of the Week in 7 or our 9 events played this season."- Head Coach Austin Eoff.
This marks Turnell's first collegiate win, setting a new career-low score (66) and achieving the Trojans' best-ever individual win in program history. Additionally, this is his third top-four finish of the spring, following a runner-up performance at The Prestige and a fourth-place finish at the Louisiana Classics. His 54-hole total of 205 matches the fifth-lowest in school history for the second time.

The team will then close out match play at the Hawkeye Invitational (April 12-13) before competing in the OVC Championships at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (April 20-23).
