CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Little Rock dropped the opener of its final Ohio Valley Conference regular season series on Thursday, but has two games left to try and win the series against SEMO following a 19-0 loss to the Redhawks on Thursday at Capaha Field.
Little Rock (19-30, 8-14 OVC) will be back in action Friday against SEMO (28-24, 14-11) in a game now scheduled for 11 am, but is subject to change due to weather in the forecast. The series finale is slated for Sunday at 1 pm.
Alex Seguine and
Ty Rhoades recorded singles to account for both Little Rock hits on Thursday.
Jayce Blalock reached on a walk.
Brenden Katz threw 4.2 innings of relief, striking out three.
Josh Beezley and
Waylon Sebren preceded Katz and starter
Jack Cline struck out two.
Robert Bavon also tossed the final inning.
Despite the loss, Little Rock maintains its standing in the OVC, remaining eighth after Western Illinois suffered a 13-8 defeat at Eastern Illinois earlier today. The Trojans (.364) hold a slight .004 win percentage lead over the Leathernecks (.360) with two games remaining.
