LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Trojans took an early lead against the University of Tennessee-Martin but couldn't hang on Friday night at Gary Hogan Field in a 9-1 defeat.
The two teams meet again Saturday at 4 p.m., in the annual Hometown Heroes game honoring military personnel and first responders.
Friday night,
Angel Cano's solo homer put Little Rock (18-28, 7-12 OVC) up 1-0 in the third inning, but the Skyhawks (19-29, 10-11) tied the game with a solo shot in the fourth inning. UT Martin proceeded to score five runs over the next two innings to take control of the game.
Senior
Jack Cline got the start on the mound after being used primarily as the Saturday starter most of the conference season. He took the loss going five innings.
Zach Henry, hitting leadoff, was the offensive star of the night for Little Rock collecting three hits.
Alex Seguine added two knocks.
