LITTLE ROCK, AR. – Little Rock sophomore forward Maria Schuller has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a standout performance against Tulsa.
Schuller scored twice in the Trojans' 3-3 draw with the Golden Hurricane, striking early with an unassisted goal in the second minute before adding her second in the 72nd minute, again unassisted. She finished the match with two shots on goal and now leads the Trojans with six goals this season
"I'm excited for Maria to be recognized by the conference. She had a great performance this weekend and continues to be a threat for us in the final third. I'm looking forward to Maria scoring more goals throughout OVC play," said head coach Kelly Farrell.
The Trojans' next game will be at the Tennessee Tech to open up OVC play on Sep. 21 at 1 p.m. Schuller will look to continue her hot start to the year.
