STANFORD, Calif. – Little Rock made a strong move up the leaderboard Friday, climbing five spots after the second round of The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course.
The Trojans sit 18th overall at +11 through 36 holes after posting a +1 team score in the second round, showing improvement in one of the nation's most competitive fields.
Leading the charge for Little Rock was
Ed Featherstone, who delivered one of the top individual rounds of the day with a 4-under 66. Featherstone's round featured consistent scoring throughout and provided a major lift as the Trojans gained ground on the field. He is tied for 11
th on the individual leaderboard.
Mark Stockdale turned in an even-par 70, giving Little Rock a steady presence in the lineup, while
Rhett South added a +2 (72) round.
Elliott Simonsen finished at +3 (73), and Viggo Talasmäki rounded out the Trojan scoring with a +5 (75).
After opening at +10 on Thursday, Little Rock responded with a more composed and efficient second round, positioning itself within striking distance of several teams ahead entering Saturday's final round.
At the top of the leaderboard, BYU and UCLA are tied for the lead at -12, followed closely by Long Beach State and host Stanford at -11.
