BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock sophomore Ed Featherstone has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Golfer of the Week following another standout performance at the Hoosier Invitational, held at the Pfau Course at Indiana University.
Featherstone, a native of Sheringham, England, tied for 12th in a loaded 88-player field, carding rounds of 75-70-74 to finish at 219 (+5). He finished just two shots shy of the top five and six back of the individual medalist.
"It is great to see Ed get another Golfer of the Week award for his third of the season," Little Rock head coach Austin Eoff said. "The event at Indiana was incredibly difficult. He did a really solid job of managing his emotions over the 54 holes and controlling the variables he could control, and grinded out pars."
The honor marks Featherstone's seventh Top 15 finish of the season, as he continues to lead the OVC with a 70.7 stroke average.
"I stayed patient all week and tried to focus on one shot at a time," Featherstone said. "The course and conditions were tough, but I felt like I did a good job of staying composed and giving myself chances."
His performance also helped power Little Rock to a fourth-place finish in a competitive 15-team field.
The Trojans now turn their attention to the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, scheduled for April 26-29 at West Lafayette, Ind.
