Former Texas Tech soccer player Roxanne Frilot will play for UALR in the fall, Trojan head coach Greg Hess announced today.

Frilot, a native of Sandia, N.M., garnered numerous statewide awards following her senior season at Sandia High School. She was named the New Mexico Player of the Year, Defender of the Year, New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year, adidas Player of the Year and the Albuquerque Journal Player of the Year after helping Sandia to a state championship her senior season. Frilot was also honored with first team all-state, all-district and all-city honors as well as being named the district 2-AAAAA MVP.

"I've watched Roxanne play for years and was always impressed with her," said Hess, also a New Mexico native. "She had a solid couple of years playing in one of the best soccer conferences in the country" in the Big 12.

Frilot will have two years of eligibility remaining when she enrolls at UALR. During her freshman year at Texas Tech, she recorded two goals and two assists for six points. She started all 19 games for the Red Raiders as a freshman.

"We're excited to have Roxanne join our program," Hess said. "She is an outstanding player and should have an immediate impact on our defense with her experience and will to win. I'm glad she's decided to become a part of UALR."
