Former Red Raider to play soccer at UALR

Former Texas Tech
soccer player Roxanne Frilot will play for UALR in the fall,
Trojan head coach Greg Hess announced today.
Frilot, a native of
Sandia, N.M., garnered numerous statewide awards following her senior
season at Sandia High School. She was named the New Mexico Player of the
Year, Defender of the Year, New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year, adidas
Player of the Year and the Albuquerque Journal Player of the Year
after helping Sandia to a state championship her senior season. Frilot was
also honored with first team all-state, all-district and all-city honors
as well as being named the district 2-AAAAA MVP.
"I've watched
Roxanne play for years and was always impressed with her," said Hess, also
a New Mexico native. "She had a solid couple of years playing in one of
the best soccer conferences in the country" in the Big 12.
Frilot will have two
years of eligibility remaining when she enrolls at UALR. During her
freshman year at Texas Tech, she recorded two goals and two assists for
six points. She started all 19 games for the Red Raiders as a freshman.
"We're excited to
have Roxanne join our program," Hess said. "She is an outstanding player
and should have an immediate impact on our defense with her experience and
will to win. I'm glad she's decided to become a part of UALR."
