Trojans Drop Season Opener To Missouri State, 4-0

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -
The Arkansas-Little Rock women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to
Missouri State on Sunday after in the team's 2005 season opener. The Bears
(2-0) rode two goals from freshman Meghan Cassady to their second victory
of the young season.
Missouri State's defense limited the Trojans
effectiveness on offense and helped freshman goalkeeper Jackie Jasper
register a shutout off six saves. The Bears went ahead 1-0 early on when
Chelsea Anderson scored off a corner kick by Caroline Rooker 1:13 into the
game. Cassady tallied her first goal later in the half to send Missouri
State into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Cassady's second goal came 63:13 into the
contest off a rebound and put the Bears on top 3-0. Freshman Allison
Osmundson put the finishing touches on the win when she beat senior
goalkeeper Marsha Stewart on a breakaway 13 minutes later. Stewart came up
with nine saves in the losing effort.
The Trojans (0-1) return to action on Tuesday
when they travel to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
