TROY, Ala.
- The Arkansas-Little Rock
women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Troy on Sunday to fall to
0-2 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans (1-9-1, 0-2 Sun Belt) limited
Troy to just five shots on goal, but four of them found the back of the
net.
Troy (4-3, 2-0 Sun Belt) remained unbeaten in
conference play thanks to goals from four separate players and six saves
from goalie Laura Longard.
Megan Kosiba made it a 1-0 contest with 12:21
on the clock when she scored off an assist from Brittany Stoltz. Teresa
Herring then beat senior keeper Marsha Stewart to give Troy a 2-0 lead at
the half.
Herring and Jenna Mosher picked up assists at
the 61:38 mark when their passes led to a score by Brittany White, making
it 3-0. Beth McClendon tacked on the final goal in the 83rd minute to
bring the game to its 4-0 conclusion.
UALR returns home next weekend as it welcomes conference foes Florida
International (Firday, Sept. 30) and Louisiana-Lafayette (Sunday, Oct. 2)
to Burns Park.
