MONROE, La. - Louisiana-Monroe (2-3) pulled out a 1-0 victory over the Arkansas-Little Rock women's soccer team on Wednesday night. ULM's Megan Moore scored the game's only goal midway through the first half and goalie Rachel Marcom came up with three saves to secure the win for the Lady Indians.

The short-handed Trojans (0-5) took just 13 players to Monroe, three of which were goalkeepers. UALR senior Marsha Stewart matched her season high with nine saves in the losing effort.

"It was a pretty even ball game, but we were never able to recover from the deficit. We had a few chances but just couldn't get it done," said UALR head coach Greg Hess. "The past few games have been closer and closer and the team is playing better each time out. Hopefully this weekend we'll be able to get over the hump and get a win. We're still very depleted as far as depth goes, but we're hoping to get some players back soon."

Moore, who led all players with five shots on goal, notched the game's only score at the 25 minute mark off a pass from Tara Balogh. ULM managed 12 shots in the second half, but was unable to tally another goal as Stewart came up with six saves after the break.

The Trojans return to action this weekend when they travel to Martin, Tenn., to take on Murray State (Sept. 9) and UT Martin (Sept. 11).
