Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ? Middle Tennessee used a pair of goals by Jennifer Threlkeld on Friday night to pick up a 3-0 win over the UALR women's soccer team and improve to 5-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans (4-8, 2-3) bottled up the Blue Raider offense for the first 40 minutes of the game, before Threlkeld scored what would be the game winner with 40:45 on the clock.
Senior goalkeeper Ashley Boccarossa came up with four crucial saves through the early goings of the first half, before Threlkeld broke a 0-0 tie and put the Blue Raiders (11-2, 5-0) on top for good. Her goal in the 41st minute came in front of the box off an assist by Kaley Forrest.
Threlkeld struck again in the 56th minute, scoring on a 20-yard blast up top off a pass from Katherine Andresen. The two goals pushed Threlkeld's season total to six. Katie Daley added an insurance goal six minutes later, as Forrest recorded her second assist of the night.
Boccarossa recorded nine saves in the loss, as Middle Tennessee totaled 22 shots on the night (13 on goal). The Trojans managed just four shots in the game, with their lone shot on goal coming from freshman Dana Sahd. The Blue Raiders' Erynn Murray worked all 90 minutes in goal, with one save, to earn the shutout.
UALR returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Western Kentucky at 1 p.m.
